I finally got a copy and gave it a first listen tonight. I honestly haven't enjoyed anything so much in close to six months. I thought my music bone was broken as I've not been able to really dig in and enjoy music all year. This one has me on the mend in that regard. As special praise, I haven't touched my guitar hardly in a year yet I pulled it out and played for an hour with pleasure after listening to this album. These are very personal sorts of praise, but I think they are valid and deserving.

I'm not going out on a limb here, it's a fully realized egg of an album...

For real. I was worried that I was overdoing it by listening to Wait In The Car and All Nerve over and over before the album came out...Somehow they never became played out and now I want to hear those songs more than ever. I love Kim's self released version of Walking With A Killer, but the Breeders version is even better. All of it...so good. There is an energy here that cannot be contained. Masterful even in it's idiosyncrasy.

Did not even know they had put out another album. Wow. I can listen to All Nerve on repeat several times in a row, then wake up and do so again. So rare.

Yeah Im pissed I had to miss them a couple weeks ago cause the person that was supposed to get the tickets flaked on me AGAIN.

Im slacking, but I JUST picked up All Nerve today.
All I can say is, god fucking damn, can The Breeders even make a bad album if they wanted to??
Knocked that shit out of the fucking park like they've done every single damn time!
Im thinking Kim and Kellie might actually be Demi-gods or something at this point.

Someone hipped me to this, and it occurred to me that fans of The Breeders might find something they could like in it...

I love All Nerve but thus far I think its probably the worst album of their career. The italics are just a joke though, if its true its only because they set such a high bar with the other ones.

They play Houston on Monday, but it’s at the House of Blues. Therefore, I’ll be seeing them at First Ave in May if anybody wants to grab an alcohol with me.

Saw the Breeders/Melkbelly in Nashville recently on a trip to see friends. Big Breeders fan and the show was wonderful and gave me a lot of joy. Melkbelly is good! Almost too Breeders-like for me at first, but they won me over for the most part. The lead singer is even a little Frank Black like in some songs, gets a twisted look on her face when she yelps and what not. The Breeders blew them away for me but that's undoubtedly partly cause I know all the songs and traveled quite eagerly to see them. Melkbelly is definitely a good band, though I couldn't tell how good exactly based on my single exposure to them while I was heavily overtired.

Though I guess you already saw them ha.

Something about the chorus of "Spacewoman" -- takes me right back to being 12 years old listening to a clock radio in my bedroom. Magical.

Saw The Breeders the other night, in Ybor, and it was about as awesome a rock show as we could have hoped to attend. One great song after another. The lighting and graphics were cool too. We had a blast and also dug Melkbelly.

This sure made me nostalgic for the days when bands made cool videos (or do they still?). I love this one.

That said, who's gonna fix the embed situation on this here message board?

Very excited about seeing them soon...

After revisiting their catalog to prep for the show, I'd have to rank the albums in the following way- strangely, I find myself coming back to Title TK because both Mountain Battles and the new one have a similar hitch regarding consistency, but then "Dawn: Making An Effort" is one of their best songs- just a gorgeous atmosphere in that.

Last Splash
Title TK
Pod
Mountain Battles and Kim Deal solo series

I forgot about the Fate To Fatal EP, the Amps, and then the Kim Deal solo series stuff. When you step back and consider the whole package, it's really quite a whopper of amazing.

It must be Britt Walford doing the background vox/shouts/ and the little snippet about Josephine going bald on Pod. At first, I thought it was Steve, but now I'm thinking it was Britt.

What a joy it was watching the Deal sisters and co. do their thing. Great positive/happy energy, those two Deals. I took some video of the show and it turned out alright.

Also- there were some jabs at EA for giving them mobile app-based something or others for the background stuff on a few songs.
