I'm with tommydski. I detest "Cars" and would rather listen to pretty much anything else.

If you prefer tiny, disgusting, fag-creating yet homophobic greasy Jehoova's Witless Purple Midget over Gary Numan, please leave this forum.

Obviously you don't like cool things like robots, the future, space, sadness, depression, malaise and detachment from our existence and prefer stupidity and bad disco-funk music with shit-solo guitar wanking wrapped in ass-less purple pants and capes played with a hideous penile-guitar thing.

And you've never listened to Tubeway Army, because you were pretending to be "Funk-ay" and dancing around in your bedroom questioning your own sexuality and believing that The Purple Midget is somehow more "real" than a pasty-faced bleach-blonde British synth-mope-rocker, because Princey's music is "Fun" and "Clever" and "Funky".

But, you were wrong.

"Cars" sounds like it was written by a child, and not an especially gifted one. It's like "Rock and Roll Part 2" for nerds.

Yeah, pretty much seeing an "advantage: push" type scenario here.

I'd rather listen to anything by Tubeway Army or Gary Numan solo through Telekon over whatever any of you claim is Prince's best song. For a while there, Numan was spectacular.

"Cars" is a fine song, and I'm reiterating my vote for it. It's a shame it's the only Gary Numan song most people know.

"Rock and Roll Part 2," which someone else mentioned, is also a fine song, though part 1 is much better and neither is Gary Glitter's best song. I would rather listen to most of Gary Glitter's hits than whatever any of you claim is Prince's best song.

From his first record to, I don't know, Controversy or 1999, Prince was okay. He's had his moments since then ("Pop Life," "Batdance," those songs where he sped his voice up to portray his female alter-ego), but not many.

The bridge/tambourine break on InCars is definitely not cool. The main riff holds the weight on this one. It's got something that makes you want to cover it, until you hear the bridge or until you hear the FearFactory version.

Zom-zom really nailed what's gross about the Purple one, but all this music is pretty same-sex oriented. InCars kinda makes me think he's picking up dudes in his Cutlass Supreme. Kiss, well Prince probably wrote that song to his mirror.

Someone do a mashup. It will be like audio ipecac.

I'd rather play InCars, so I'd rather hear InCars.

'Cars' is a pretty average song for that era of Gary Numan. i'd take pretty much any other track on "The Pleasure Principle" over 'Cars'.

but it kicks the shit out of most, if not all Prince songs.

I heard "Cars" recently and though I still love it, it sounds like the drummer didn't get the "cold, futuristic, robotic" memo. He plays it way too human with his bad fills etc.

A decent amount of exposure to real funk music makes 99% of Prince's stuff fall by the wayside pretty quickly by comparison.

I like a lot of Gary Numan's music.

Gary Numan reminds me of Billy Corgan.

I would not go and see a band called Amateur Pilots For Thatcher.

I'd like to go on record that Prince is a total wanker with highly questionable taste. Nothing but a clown with a bunch of pop hits and a stupid wardrobe.

Gary Numan probably looks down upon acres of rolling British countryside from the window of his private aircraft and thinks "they should build more prisons."

On his decision last year to emigrate to the US:

"Every village and town in England has a bunch of thugs running around in it. The riots were the nail in the coffin. I have been sitting on the application for the last two months, asking Gemma if she is absolutely sure because once it is done, it's done forever. The day after the riots, I got onto the lawyer and said, 'let's do it - get on with it'. I do love being English and I am not anti the country but I have got to think of the children."

Were you thinking of them when you supported Thatcher Gary?

"America clearly has its own problems, but Santa Monica is great. It has beautiful beaches and the Pacific ocean. There is not one bit of trouble and not one surly or aggressive person there. Everyone is friendly. You ask the teenagers there for directions and they are polite and helpful. Do that here and you are as likely to get stabbed as you are to get directions. The fact is the English are pretty miserable."

YES I WONDER WHY. Fuck off and don't come back you tory cunt.

Every song on Parade is evidence of Prince's genius and Kiss is just one of them.
