I listened to Jailbreak on my way to work this morning.

I wish every work week started off with beautifully harmonized lead guitar melodies.

Fight or fall, when Phil does the panning 'tell her myself' vocals.

Makes the little hairs on the neck stand at attention, so good.

not crap.

I think a lot of music from that era, good and bad, had a similar cheezeball quality. It's just the nature of the beast. Thin Lizzy stood out from the MOR r'n'r crowd due to some sort of integrity. They weren't punk rock but they were better than the rest.

That integrity was most likely due to STELLAR SONGWRITING

FYI, Back to Black has reissused Jailbreak and Black Rose, although there are apparently no current plans to reissue Bad Reputation, my current fave.

I recommend replicating this in a car between driver and passenger when listening to the song. It's especially good when you don't really know the other person that well and you do it without planning. That there is a friend for life.

I downloaded some video circa 1979 or 80 of Phil Lynott playing with Cook 'N Jones doing "We wish you a merry Christmas" on some show from BBC. I think there might have been some other stuff as well, it's been years. I'm shuffling off to the archives to see if I can locate it.

Yeah!

Mine would be Lizzy, Sabbath, and Humble Pie, but I'm not sure how to arrange them cosmologically.

I was filling in as dj for a friend's radio show today and i played 8 Thin Lizzy songs. songs played included "A Ride In The Lizzy Mobile" and the demo, live and album versions of "Got To Give It Up"

During dinner my lady and I watched live Lizzy on youtube.

It's been a Thin Lizzy saturday around here.

It's a pretty good example of all that is great and good about Thin Lizzy, starts a bit slow but worth watching as it deals with everything you love about 70's rock too.

How they end the song is just text book!!

There's nothing crap about this band. 'Fighting' is an album I didn't know existed until recently. awesome.
