One thing that bugs me, having lived in Eau Claire from 1977 to 1981, is that all the supposed musical "history" that this guy and others have written entirely overlooks that there was a sort of scene going on back then, including the pre- Rifle Sport bands that three of us that were in RS had starting in '78.

We were probably one of the first punk bands in Wisconsin, and played a fair amount of shows, recorded original music etc. There were a few other bands in the early '80s as well doing some original stuff.

I just came here to say that I finally figured out what his vocals remind me of:

Salut! Mr. King.

I play guitar in Daddy's Boy
I played guitar in Fake Limbs and bass in Burn Permits.

His music does very little for me.

I actually hated him for a while, because of all the press and hype he was getting for his first two records, which I found boring. A friend of mine is a big fan and encouraged me to give 22, A Million a try. So I gave it a spin and I was like, "well, ok, this glitchy electronic stuff is a little bit more interesting than his previous work." That same friend had an extra ticket to his St. Louis show last year that he sold to me for a discount. The show was enjoyable, I'm glad I went, but still, his music does very little for me.
- "Whatever happened to that album?"
- "I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall, and it like, shattered."
