They just posted this audition video of what I assume is the woman who got the guitar spot playing with them.

She is in fact, confirmed to be the new guitarist of Propagandhi.

Deets here dudes.

Dunno how to feel. I liked Beave a ton. I hope she's as good, if not better.

Aside from me not being on the board for a while, I don't know how I missed this.

She's a sweet fuckin' guitar player but don't feel those back up vocals too hard.

She still rules and I'm sure it'll all pan out, Stoked to hear her on a new record.

I need Jord to smoke some weed with me again.

I respectfully disagree, her back-up vox are on par with the actual record. She's also facemeltingly awesome on guitar.

Even better is now people can't call them "secret racists" or some shit because it was a band made up of white dudes. I'm sure some asshole called them out on that a few times.

According to Chris, that video is her auditioning with the band and no one expected her to do backing vocals too. She just went for it.

Getting Todd to shout "Fuck the police" was my small contribution to the Propagandhi show last night. Saw a bro in a Calgary Flames hoodie buy a copy of Racialized Policing by Elizabeth Comack at the merch table (the key text on police oppression of Indigenous people in the Prairies). Propagandhi make the world a better place like few other bands.

Their tour guy who runs the merch table, David, has a PhD (works with Comack) and was in the occupied West Bank at an international conference of geographers this summer.

There is nothing incidental about how this band works. And Sulynn slayed. People who aren't from the Prairies (i.e., most people) might not get how cool it is for a brown woman to be on stage rocking the fuck out in the best punk band going.

Love these dudes 4ever. Todd is so pure. That dude is youth.

That obtrusive poll left of center reminds me so much of The Albert. Sigh (RIP). Had to double check...

Great band.

That'd be the Exchange in Regina. Sigh.

(Played the Albert once before it died on us. I was 17 and had to spend every non-performing moment of the night out in the van.)

They were sold out of tour hoodies this weekend. Bought a Tshirt but I'm not that stoked about the design.

Finally heard this band for the first time the other day. Man, did it FUCKING BLOW. The music itself has some moments, but boy oh boy is the singing some of the worst emo-sounding-crap I've ever heard.

New album is a return to the pop-punk stuff that was never my jam. I've only been with them since Today's Empires. Not into the first two albums. They're good folks though. I like that Todd put on fake tattoo sleeves at some point in the shooting of this video. I'm not into the new album at all. Is there even one Todd song on it?!

I really like the new one. All monster jams. (Two Todd songs.)

Feels like a logical extension (musically, anyway) to Less Talk.

Good album. Some of Chris's best lyrics yet.

My post on the new album was hasty. Written while listening for the first time. I prefer the dropped down heavy sound of their last few albums much more than the early pop punk stuff (I hate pop punk, all of it) but the new one has grown on me. Still a great band. I don't listen to any other bands that would be in this genre though, other than the classic/obscure Canadian thrash that still informs them a bit.

This boundless epoch we've bestowed
Upon your savage, empty lands
Well of course mistakes were made
But as far as human progress goes
Welcome to a slightly higher plane
Of innovation and opportunity
For your trampled communities
The treaties that we broke
The lands that we filched
The settlements put to the torch
The children we abused
All for your own good of course
It just happens to be the way history has been made
Just don't play with a toy gun or change lanes without signalling
Don't comply, don't resist, 'cause it don't make no difference
