It's a goddamned tragedy that this thread isn't longer or paid more attention to. Kylesa is so Not Crap that they're constipated. Phenomenal band live and on record.

Every time I see this band name, this is what I think of:

It's not healthy to eat that without bread.

Don't need to invoke the evils of capitalism in every thread, Ernest.

No shit, but wheat in general is supposed to have a disproportionate effect due to the genetic modification in the last 50 years or so.

I dig em. There's a certain cadence in the vocals that repeats itself, but there's enough variance in their grove to keep listening. They've definitely kept my atttention for many years and I'm not gonna tell them to change what they're doing. They've made some really good records. Really good records.

New album is quite surprising, especially following Spiral Shadow.
Gonna take a few spins to fully click I think, though I do like it after my first listen.

Static Tensions is a minor masterpiece imho. I also like most of the two previous albums (haven't heard the self-titled). But Spiral Shadows was a let down for me and based on the songs I've heard from the new one, I haven't been moved to pick it up. Makes me a little sad. Also, they're down to one drummer now, no?

Damn. I'll admit I can hear the similarity but it's a bit like the "Come As You Are" / "Eighties" argument, innit.

Listened to Ultraviolet for the second time yesterday, it's just not grabbing me in the slightest. I think Spiral Shadow is generally considered the weak spot in their discog (right ?) but it's probably the one that gets the most play for me, followed by Time Will Fuse.... The new one just doesn't really have anything that stands out for me. I think it isn't helped by the recording sounding really dull and murk. Honestly I would've been fine if they got even less metal/sludge and just went into full-on Pixies worship or whatever, as long as they committed to something. Ultraviolet just feels a bit half-assed to me. Unsurprisingly the critics seem to be losing their shit over it, though.

Just starting getting into this band.. Static Tensions is a pretty rad record. I'll reserve my vote for now, but liking what I've heard so far.

Saw them opening for Cult of Luna last night (we went just to see Kylesa) and they smoked.

I wish they had been the headliner.

I really like Laura's voice. They didn't have their new record for sale, which bummed me out.

How many people in the live band? Their press photos right now just show three members. They used to be five with two drummers.

I kind of lost interest with the albums that came after Static Tensions.

New song:

Always thought bread wasn't really popular in America, like it's here in Europe.

It's not popular...America hates bread, but we love "bread".

So why all the uproar over azodicarbonamide? Azodicarbonamide is used as a dough conditioner not only by Subway but also by other fast-food chains like McDonald’s, Arby’s, and Starbucks. Although it’s approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it’s illegal to use as a dough improver in the European Union and Australia.

Azodicarbonamide is not only used in commercial baking, it’s also used in yoga mats, shoe rubber, and other materials, like synthetic leather. There is concern that this chemical might cause chronic diseases including cancer and, possibly, asthma and allergies. As reported by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI):2

Meh. I wouldn't say they were CRAP, but I don't like them. Kinda tastefully upbeat and blatantly tuneful. Nice guy (or gal) metal. Always reminded me of Karp, who I also dislike. You can’t be wholesome and really heavy.
