I voted Crap.

(JUST KIDDING HAHAHAHAHA DON'T KILL ME)

The photo of Iggy on the cover of Raw Power scared me off buying it when I was like 13 and didn't know shit about shit. Years later I ended up playing it obsessively for months. By now I've seen Iggy Pop a few times, and Asheton / Asheton / Mascis / Watt once, but never the Stooges, not yet.

I liked the use of saxes on Funhouse. Saxes used the right way in rock music can be great.

"LA Blues" is the musical representation of how I feel about LA. Blarrggharggh AHHH!!! AHHHH!!!!!!

not crap.

NOT CRAP

"Dirt" and "1970" are two of the best songs ever recorded - the essence of rock music.

I remember the last time Iggy played in Argentina was supporting The Ramones in a big 50.000 capacity stadium. I was 10 and remember seeing it on the telly.

Look like Steve will be doing the whole "production" and Jack "wanna be Billy Childish" White will be doing the "art" concept and maybe some backing vocals, according to an interview Ron Asheton did with an Argentinian newspaper http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/suple ... 08-17.html

Search and Destroy is probably the best rock and roll song ever.

Your point is valid. However, Hard To Beat (Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell) may be actual perfection.

I'm with you. Wait'll you hear my "outlaw country" arrangement of "Pretty Face," a duet with Pink Nasty.

I always thought Iggy sang like a hillbilly.

What's worse is that they'll probably play stuff from Skull Ring.

But it doesn't really matter, it's a good time anyway.

I'm seeing them tomorrow for the second time this year.

Haha, I forgot to report how incredibly great that Stooges show at Bumbershoot in Seattle was last year.

It was fucking incredible...

They did "No Fun" twice... once with about 100 kids on stage -- and literally KIDS. Security was about to deal with the situation, and then Iggy yelled at security said "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GUYS DOING? THEY'RE JUST KIDS! THEY'RE NOT GOING TO HARM YOU!" and then the second take on "no fun" was just a lot of awkward 13 year olds on stage just walking and running around trying to rock out to themselves and each other and running into Iggy for two minutes that seemed like 20 minutes, but in a good way. I would have killed to be one of those kids on stage (if I were that age, that is.)

Fun House - one of the greatest albums ever.

Uncategorizable as well - it's not punk, it's not blues-rock, it's NOT funk-rock, it's NOT free jazz, but it has all of those elements perfectly mixed in there. Absolutely unique - the sound of hard drugs.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

Um, NOT CRAP.

"Funhouse" was a grower for me. I think I got it sometime in eight grade, but it took a few years before its greatness fully took me over.

i saw the Stooges playing in Turin, Italy in the summer of 2004.

they made me think i'd never seen a rock concert before that one.

and i had seen hundreds of (what i thought were) proper rock shows in my life.

the best rock'n'roll band ever. dio cane.

Translation for that little part from the Argentinian interview with Ron.

Journalist- I've read that Jack White was going to produce some songs on the new album

Ron - No, Steve Albini is going to do the whole thing, but Jack will do the art concept. Maybe he'd do some backing vocals or something like that, but that's up to Iggy.

Many basement nights have I spent leaping, air-guitaring, all that stuff from which I normally refrain, all while listening to this Raw Power record, so loud! The negation of crap is this album.

This being said, the above quote puts a bit of a smile on my face. It seems, to me, a display of balls. Salut, stooges! Your first two albums were better, anyways!
