Maybe listening to Zeppelin at the tender age of 9 was too much for your larval ears. Here's a suggestion: try listening to their music now that your balls have dropped.

oki, i will listening again, but i must find a place to, or someone to keep my cat away, it could be very dangerous for me!!!!

My tastes veer so far away from "classic" rock that it would seem out of character for me to listen to Led Zeppelin. But I really like them (barring Stairway). The musicality is striking and they were true innovators.

My friend turned me on to a CD called Pickin' on Led Zeppelin (you can listen to clips from the link). I don't know, I thought this stuff was pretty funny.

Hey, I actually dig that stuff! Sort of. I don't imagine I'd just sit down to listen to it often, but I like bluegrass enough to give it the occasional spin.

Reminds me of a very entertaining country band that covers AC/DC called Hayseed Dixie.

'Misty Mountain Hop' (unfortunately you can't hear the clip of that one) is what really blew me away. I have to admit that the playing on these recordings is pretty damn good.

Bluegrass musicians generally swing some pretty big meat.

But the stuff in those clips is a little too close to the Americana/hippie strain of "nu bluegrass" for me. Like something you'd hear on public radio.

I'm reading the 33 1/3 book on Led Zeppelin IV.
I love this series of books.

Anyway, in the intro chapter, the author, Erik Davis, makes the most EA statement I've ever seen away from this board.

"They were a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, stuffed into a cock."

Bodes well for this book, that statement.
