Tried this last night. It's delicious, and if you like cardamom you will love it. I like the flavor much better than Branca or Luxardo, but then I love cardamom. Would go really well with Middle eastern food, I imagine.

Edit: This Fernet doesn't have the same euphoric effect as Branca but the effect it produces, in me anyway, is very pleasant, very mellow.

The only problem with Fernet is it is relatively expensive. Not crazy expensive, but I swear to god, when I have a bottle I go through it in 2 days. I can't afford $25.00 every 2 days.

Recently got some of this which was described to me as "weird cola." It's something like cola, yeah, and it has a peppery and bitter finish.

It's pretty great stuff and so far the best chaser for Fernet I've found.

Tried this last night at a bar and was very impressed. The flavor is much closer to those of other amari I've been tasting lately. It's also much sweeter than regular Fernet-Branca. I imagine it would be perfect in hot chocolate, or over ice cream.

I heard the same thing, except it was a SF/Boston split.

I've had the straight Branca, citrus and mint. Not a bad one among 'em.

I love fernet. It can be enjoyed many ways. Straight. Mixed with root beer. Mixed with birch beer. A bartender at Big Star in Chicago one morning made me a drink with iced coffee, fernet, and simple syrup. It was delicious.

I bought a bottle of the Leopold Brothers awhile back. Delicious. Quite a bit different than Fernet Branca.

Recently bought a bottle of this:

Image

A bit more expensive than Branca at $32 a bottle. Lighter in the mouth and the glass, thinner (less viscid) and a bit drier, higher abv at 40%. Nice little buzz on its own.

Was given a taste of Tempus Fugit's Fernet Angelico tonight.

Image

It's good, but maybe not worth $60 a bottle. 44%abv, starts out real warm but mellows into an almost walnut/walnut skin mid-palate, and then a more herbal/medicinal finish. Supposedly Branca used to use lots of saffron then cut it somewhat to save cost. This uses more saffron, like older formulations.

Also, have it from a trusted source that Blo. Nardini Distilleria is working on getting its fernet to America. The Italian gov't has approved it for export and it's moving through Washington DC now, TTB or whatever, labeling requirements, etc. Plan is to have it here early next year. Very much looking forward to that.

Had Fernet-Branca a couple of times, in a few shots. Tasted like a hospital to me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Don't drink it a ton, didn't mind in shot form. Pretty easy to find at bars in Chicago, seems like it with club soda & a lemon is something I'd like to try.

Not bad. I prefer Branca Mentha.

I'd rather be drinking this:

I'm in Slovakia, bought a small bottle of Fernet 'Stock'.
it was fairly disgusting. I finished it anyway, but I'll drink fucking anything.
Still not sure whether Fernet is not my bag, or if it's just terrible Fernet.

Get the real business, I'd say. Most Stock products are weak.

Fernet-Vallet is great.

We've been doing a lot of other amaros around here, but Fernet Branca does have that delightful menthol thing going on.

Made in Oregon by two Italian brothers. It's fantastic, very bark and clove forward, and 40% abv. So good.
