Felt it deserved its own thread. The first episode was a lot of NOT CRAP.

*edit: video was deleted. replaced with trailer.

That last little bit is NSFW.

It's Ash. It's Evil Dead. Lucy Lawless has a role. Isn't that an insta-NC?

Saw it. It's pretty good. It has all the ingredients. The types of folks who don't "get" the original movies will still probably not "get" the TV show. But it's fun, so maybe it will pick up new fans. I heard it got picked up for another season. Groovy.

I wonder if Raimi will hand it off to newer directors like he did with the Evil Dead remake.

*EDIT* Just checked wikipedia, it looks like the rest of season 1 of Ash vs. Evil Dead will indeed be done by other directors. Lots of guys I recognize from the Xena & Hercules TV series.

Really a lot of fun. Don't think you have to be a fan of the movies to enjoy it. NOT CRAP

Can get a bit fanservice-y.

Oh man, it's Bruce Campbell playing Ash in 2015. Gold brick. Blowjobs. Moustache.

It's a good mix of AOD-type goofy humor and ED2-type scares/gore.

My only quibble is that I wish there were more practical effects and less CGI, but I think that's a fact of life in 2015; CGI is probably cheaper.

Liked it. Thought it started a little weak but got going well enough and for a first episode looks promising.

CGI is a lot cheaper, and faster. I don't like it either, but in the behind the scenes thing after the episode they said they used as many practical effects as they could. The woman turning her head around Linda Blair style was a practical effect, so was the scissors in the hand.

Saw episodes 1 & 2 last night, and loved them. Having not seen the movies since god knows when, I was wondering if I'd really enjoy it or just be mildly amused. I laughed out old a few times, and thought the two episodes I saw were really well paced and genuinely funny. Bruce Campbell is a national treasure. I love that guy.

Not gonna subscribe to the channel to see it, but am seriously considering torrenting it (which is something I never do).

First, this pair is priceless. Second, the years have been incredibly kind to Lucy Lawless.

Interesting that Bruce Campbell is on my two favorite tv shows right now (this and Fargo). Dude is killing it.

My major gripe is that this show wasn't released on Netflix, so I could binge watch it three times in a row. Also, Jill Marie Jones is very nearly as attractive as my lovely wife, and makes my sweaty palms sweatier. So that doesn't hurt.

And there should never be a season of TV without Bruce Campbell, ever.
