It's been a long-ass time since i've seen this, so maybe parts haven't aged well, but i gotta say Not Crap.

John Candy is just brilliant in this movie. His balance of comedy and tragedy is a wonder to behold.

My only gripe is that John Hughes always gave his movies the easy way out- also see Breakfast Club. I can't watch the last 10 minutes of "Planes"- it's cringe-inducing.

I could easily lose the sentimental aspect of it, but there are very funny parts. The whole car sequence is one of my favourite comedy bits ever, I have no idea how many times I've seen that, especially back in the day.

I watched it Thanksgiving evening and it's held up great. John Candy was wonderful in this movie.

That has become a "tradition" at the Redline Compound.

We decided the only character we don't like so much is Steve Martin's wife. She's such a suspicious nag at the beginning of the movie, and then at the end of the movie she turns into a ghost in a boring designer dress.

I watch the last 10 minutes of the movie but cringe right through it. It’s such a great movie I gotta watch the whole thing.
