Series: The End of the Fucking World

Postby Bernardo on Fri Jan 12, 2018 1:10 am

I thought it was really, really good, and everyone was excellent in it. I enjoyed that the episodes were super short, it was feature film-length (a LONG film, but still) as opposed to eight super drawn out hours. Saw it in one sitting. NC

I still have the last episode to watch, but I've really enjoyed it. Love pretty much the entire cast.

I liked it. The ending was predictably abrupt but overall it was a good black comedy. I liked Super Hans' cameo as the daft local cop.

It's clever in that the 2 main characters are pretty annoying but extremely likable and real. Quite a tricky feat to pull off.

The ending was weak but pretty solid overall.

Loved it. Randomly started it last night, and we were up until three to finish it. Really great character development. Surprisingly funny considering how dark it was. It was even sweet at parts. I was conflicted by pretty much all the main characters, which gave it a lot more depth. there was tons of humorous editing and solid music choices. it even steered away from the Wes Anderson nonsense I was worried about in episode one pretty quick. The ending, although kind of unsatisfying was actually enough of an ending, instead of some "wait a year for season two" cliffhanger. One of the best shows I've seen in a long time.

Couple of episodes in and it's OK. I'll continue.

Watched 2 episodes last night. Felt like a Wed Anderson/Guy Ritchie collaboration aimed at alternateens. Pass.

Nice to see some English countryside. I was beginning to think the whole isle was manicured.

Watched the first episode and didn't think I wanted to see any more. Started the second the next day and watched the remaining seven in one setting. i enjoyed it. Glad they didn't try to drag it into a second season. Satisfying. Not Crap.

Weirdest thing is it looks American - mostly - but is set in South West England. I’m pretty sure this is deliberate.

Lots of fun. Not life changing.

Its based on an American graphic novel, so both the Americanising of the location and the way the 2 kids speak makes sense. I found it insufferable at first, particularly the constant use of music and Wes Anderson-y garbage. Once the story goes south and the girl who is in Game of Thrones (?Greyjoy) turns up, it picked up considerably and by the end, I enjoyed it.

Overall a fine television show. Acting was top notch and when the story wasn't about the murder I liked it a lot.
