You're licking my lips, ain't you?

Haven't you been watching Catterick? Truly the only show worth watching on TV at the moment. A true return to form for Reeves and Mortimer.

I am really looking forward to the League of Gentlemen movie. Papa Lazarou is one of the most sinister characters ever invented.

Are you a tail or no tail? it's so difficult to tell these days.

I really loved the third series, cutting the canned laughter gave the baroque weirdness an even darker hue; brilliantly scripted and structured - I've way too many favourites to mention although Herr Lipp burying his quarry alive (along with Tubbs breastfeeding a piglet) ranks as one of the more disturbing scenes.

Easily one of the best britcoms in years. Completely wonderful and horrific towards the end.

I heard they filmed a movie last year - was it released yet?

I used to have the DVD of season one, but it got stolen.

I loved the commentary. I can't remember if I heard it on the commentary or read it in an article about the series, but I sort of recall that Royston Vesey was based on one or more real towns in England.

Which made it even funnier to me, as a Yank.

The League Of Gentlemen's Apocalypse is set for a UK release on June 3rd. I saw a trailer for it today which looked pretty good. It involved a giraffe.

I think every character is an exaggerated version of someone real the writers/actors have encountered in their lives. There are plenty of small towns and villages that have the 'local' feel over here. The actual place they film it is called Hadfield, not too far from Manchester. Apparantly though the people are all very nice and welcoming, even to those only going for League reasons.
Among most people i know, 'Royston Vasey' or 'Vasey' has become an adjective the same way 'Slaughtered Lamb' once was. (pub from American Werewolf in London).

eg : "this place is a bit Vasey innit"

I'd only caught a couple of episodes previously but it looks like the BBC has put the entire sequence of League of Gentlemen series on their YouTube channel. Thank you, BBC! I can't wait to dive in. Nearly every one of my favorite UK comedians and plenty of American ones sing the praises of this show.

nice programme. most amusing. the orange juice commercial audition makes me wee. as does the hideous chimera. as does the koi pond. as does the egregious lady. could go on but i'll spare you.

I love the League of Gentlemen and thought it was one of the best British comedies ever, though the movie was surprisingly awful.

8 haven't seen anything new but S2 and S3 of the original show are some great bits of dark comedy. S1 is WAY too laugh track heavy
