no, no, you're getting me wrong - I had something written there but it was ultimately meaningless (read: even more stupid than some of the bullshit I spew here), so I got rid of it.

I was just playing around, being square. As usual.

If you check Amazon for awhile you should be able to find one new for under 80 bones, maybe a bit cheaper used. I managed to find one new for $60 not too long ago. Then I forged their signatures and flipped it for half a grand.

In my local record shop it's £70 ($140). I paid £40 off amazon though. It's worth checking amazon marketplace every now and then.

I'd been waiting to buy their albums after hearing "Repeat" on the radio a few years ago.
Whenever I looked around to buy their records, they weren't in print and were selling for $70+ various places.
The local store had pretty much all their stuff in the other day so I bought Repeat and Deceit.
These albums are fantastic.
That 2nd track on Deceit....Wow. There are so many ideas in that. More than some bands have over the course of an entire album.
Not Crap.

Listening to Peter Hamill's The Future Now, now.

Reminds me of This Heat in a lot of spots.

That box set would be well worth it at twice the price. This band could never be crap.

Cute band, I love about half of the self-titled album, I think entire albums should be based off of "Shrink Wrap" (and if these exist, someone let me know please). Other than that, these guys are simply too wanky for my tastes.

Crap, with some waffles because of the stuff mentioned above

I don't think the whole album is about that, but certainly the last song/two songs. There's a good story in the book about the original plan for the cover of the album, which was to have the 'punk' band playing in a grotty basement/whatever and then on the rear of the sleeve show the plugs from all their equipment running back through the grid to a nuclear power plant.

A year later, I read this and say: Damn, that woulda been fucking awesome.

This Heat is some quality shit.

My most appreciated album of this band is "Deceit", actually I should try others soon - except "This Heat" which is also interesting release I already know - because music they've created contains many specific, innovating clues and echoes in early '80s.

Not crap, doubtless.

Oh, and hi everyone, my first post here.

NC for the song "24 Track Loop" alone.

I should hunt down the box set once I'm back on my job's paycheck cycle.

I've been surprised lately to find out that Hayward's vocals are a point of contention. That's exactly the type of singing that I find easier to like, ultra-expressive, almost too good.

Been listening to Deceit again, first time in months. Great record. Their first record is also very good. An obvious distinction from any of the other stuff that was coming out at the time.

Am I supposed to say Not Crap? Cause I'm sick of that already.

Damn, I love this band.

Take a look at this really cool interview with (who else?) Charles Hayward about the history of This Heat. From 2001. Has Bullen ever been interviewed about the band?
