I'm sorry, but every time (and I mean every time) I've tuned in, it has been about farts, strippers and retards. Oh and how many chicks someone banged. Maybe he is eloquent and well-spoken when pushed into a debate that largely revolves around what dollar amount he's being fined, but I haven't heard it.

CRAP.

I have. The show has made me piss my pants laughing, and it's also moved me to tears without being maudlin. Sure, it can be stupid and ridiculous, but it's never dumb. Plus, these guys have worked to put themselves in a position where they can do whatever the fuck they want -- and they do it. I certainly can't say that about my life. NOT CRAP.

NOTE: No Howard Stern in Boise. Thank you, Mormons.

I'm going to have to say not crap. Although the show is just totally retarded sometimes, it is the only radio show I have ever listened to that is entertaining.

not crap. I used to think the same as dylan, then I started listening every day. that crew is so damn funny. I like his attitude towards famous people, knocking them off their high horses.
that show has had me laugh so hard. the only thing I didnt like about him was how much he loved bush. but now he realizes the error of his ways and goes on these anti-bush tyrades that take a lot of balls to do in public.

Not Crap, if only for his pre-E cable show. He did great TV (Homeless Hollywood Squares, having Larry Linnvile star in a gory, tasteless MASH skit, Lesbian Dating Game, etc.). I never heard his regular radio thing, but it has to be better than the syndicated "two Rock Guys" types of shows.

He is done in about 6 weeks with his show. There have been times that I have laughed while listening to his show, although I am disgusted every time I hear him and his crew coaxing some girl into doing sexual things that she isnt comfortable doing. His show is not crap, with a high waffle factor. I couldn't really care less about his show ending, unless ofcourse what I hear is true about Adam Carolla taking his place. Then I would be looking forward to it

Ending? Isn't he moving to satellite radio?

For non-satellite subscribers, it is effectively ending.

I don't know how uncomfortable any of these women are with what they get asked to do on this show, or how much "coaxing" is really taking place. I say that only because, if you are a bimbo, and you're booked on the Howard Stern show, you know exactly what will happen. That is, unless you have the IQ of an animal. You may play at being coy when they ask to throw salami at your ass, but you knew going in that they would ask to throw salami at your ass.
But I agree that this is the worthless part of the show. It can be really painful to listen to him interview some stripper or porn star. The thing that has always made his tv show suck in comparison to the radio show is that the tv show is basically all the T&A segments and none of the entertaining stuff, like him ragging on celebrities and politicians and interacting with the regulars.
I also think what sets Stern's show apart from a lot of those who ape him is that the personalities and interactions of his crew aren't faked or forced.

I dig it. I got into it a few years back when i had to work in the Bronx and drove from Danbury CT to Riverdale every wekk day
(a good 1:30 or more). Stupid stripper crap is boring. Not that i am insulted, just bored.

I did enjoy when he got all political last year, even though they tried to get him away from that.

Jeff the Drunk chained to some poor lady for a week was one of the most amazing sagas I have ever heard. The wife hooked me up with satellite radio for last berfday, which is sort of blah most of the time, but I must admit, i am looking forward to the new show.

Oh and the Stevie Wonder this week was pretty great radio.

Not crap by far.

I enjoy hearing about Artie's battle with the bottle, the drama with the old comedian guy (Jackie?), Beetlejuice, etc.

The stripper/porn-star part of the show is by far the low point. I do think Howard is being an honest guy and that's an attractive quality in anyone. It doesn't always make him a "respectable" human being (morally speaking, I suppose) but it does make him somewhat admirable for being honest about where he stands on issues, etc. There's only a handful of people like this who are accepted by popular culture. Most pop icons are hypocritical pieces of shit who are only thinking about the bottom line.

Howard doesn't have to. He's got a whole country filled with hypocrites who fill his pockets while he sleeps.

I felt bad for Richard. He was kinda lumped into it. Him being the drummer for Iced Earth and Death and all.

Richard is actually funny. He's also a little on the dim side, which makes him prey. I guess I agree - he's too closely aligned with Sal.

solid n/c. I'm with everyone one calling crap on the salacious shite but ,at worst, that's 2:30hr a week. I could listen to him talk about his parents forever. He's become quite the armchair psychiatrist since he started therapy (asking every guest about their childhood). He has NO taste in music whatsoever and seems to take a perverse pride in it. I find the show is stronger when they have no guests and just riff on whatever bug Howard has up his ass. I've been a hardcore listener for 20 years and i sincerely feel that the last two weeks have been as compelling and listenable as anything I've heard them do in the past. WF=Billy West
