Funhouse is a better record but I still prefer VU overall.

One of the best Velvet Underground records, versus one of the best RECORDS of all time.

Fun house.

Funhouse speaks more to my natural musical sensibilities but White Light is something I get completely absorbed by. They are both definitely the best albums ever made while I'm listening to them. I'll try them both at once.

The VU's best record is easily better than the Stooges'.

I wouldn't want to live without either of these records, though!

More important in my musical development: White Light/White Heat

Harder rocking, way more scary and intense: Fun House

Way funnier, more distorted, even more WTF: White Light/White Heat

Greatest distorted guitar tone ever recorded: Fun House

I'm leaning towards Fun House, but I can't bear to vote against White Light/White Heat.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

In the someday, what's that sound.

Fun House though I had to think about it for like a second. I love White Light/White Heat, but Fun House is my Rosetta Stone. It is the link to just about every other music I love: rock, punk, blues, noise, jazz, funk...somehow all of that is distilled onto that album.

Nothing so pedestrian as "the greatest album ever but to wax", it is the raw spirit, uisge beatha, it is where everything starts and ends, for me anyway.

So yeah, I'm going with Fun House

I mean, dudes-
Down in the Street is everything fucking should be, you know? And that applies to every track after that.

I just can't say the same thing about any tracks on White light/White Heat

Fun house is everything, its rock, its punk, its sex, its degradation, its boredom, its soul its proto punk, fuck its even post-punk before any ever heard of such a thing. Fun house is the marker thrown a thousand yards down the field while everyone else is still landing in the mid hundreds.

White Light/White Heat is the best VU album, and nothing more.
