I think we should open a place in that neighborhood called Ethereal Waft. It's more amazing than it even sounds.

I figure you go get a Bacon Taco Vichyssoise Roll and stop in for some killer Waft after. We'll have the usual smells of all of the new wafting bars like orange, lavender and cherry, but we'll also have things like fermented turlet cigarette and gasoline burnt roast beef - real edgy stuff on the wafting scene. Hopefully, we'll be able to to do some cross-promotional stuff. Maybe we'll do a soy-based chimichurri burrito pizza waft.

Let me know what you think.

Brian I was just trying to figure out what to do with this $850k in venture capital. I think we have a winner!

The use of the word waft and its gerund wafting are at an all-time high.

I had it on good authority that it was going to be a Canadian bar

Maybe it'll be "international canadian", or transpolar fusion - hear me out, you top some fried beets with reindeer milk curds and borscht gravy, call it "Vladimir Poutine"! Throw a bnch of crazy crap on the walls, line it with fur, boom! They'll be lining up around the block! We can't lose!

Seriously, if they had changed Paddy's to something like this, I would have thought , "Yeah, that looks right"

Somewhat tangential, but the owners of O'Shaughnessy's want to knock down this beautiful victorian house in my neighborhood to build condos.

If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at who he gives it to.

Because you can trust people with the business sense to create yet another fake Irish "pub" to do the right thing. Seeing how the city is not too keen on preserving historic buildings, this house is doomed. Sorry folks, another generic 6-flat is coming to Uptown.

Says the house was damaged by fire about 15 years ago-- which is exactly when the serial arsonist was all over uptown. I wonder if it was his handiwork. And I wonder if they ever caught that guy (assuming it was one guy and not a crew).

Uptown sure doesnt need another multi unit building to replace an old cool looking house. But then, if the house is unliveable and hasn't had anyone in it for over 15 years, what's the sense in leaving it there as-is? Eventually it's gonna go to shit and/or collapse if it's fire damaged and an assload of dollars away from being inhabitable like the prospective demolishers assert. Tough call.

Not really a tough call at all. The new owners want to up-zone the area to allow for the new 6-flat. They want the block rezoned so they can make more money. Now if they were to raise a burned out structure to replace it with another single-family house, that would be acceptable. But that is not what they are doing. They are just couching their argument in language that appeals to property owners to make them seem more sympathetic, rather than stating what their real intent is.

Wouldn't it be perfect after all this time to book an Electrical event there? To exorcise the space with rock music?

A mess of a concept. Indonesian calamari. Black gnocchi. Pigs' heads.

Stunt cooking.

Prove me wrong, Grand Tour, prove me wrong.

Location is just cursed.
