That "almost" was meant with maximum acerbity and that sentence looks a bit odd out of context.

Maybe an italic would've helped.

"It's almost as if being accused of rape isn't the slightest hindrance on a male artist's career."
Kerouacian as fuck.

Italics aside, exactly.

I happened across some things I had not heard about My So-Called Life buddy that is playing The Joker in that Suicide Squad film that's coming up.

The stories that someone mentioned about this aspect of that band he's in shocked a guy who thought he was on his way to "Just About Shock Proof".

Is this widely known yet? I'd like to read more on this.

If someone who's won an Oscar for portraying a trans woman has done shit that's relevant to a thread on Michael Gira in 2016, hoo boy.

I caught it during a discussion of dude not breaking character(The Joker) during filming. From the sound of it, he sent Viola Davis a box of bullets as a gift after the film wrapped.

While discussing that, this other thing was mentioned. If rumors are even remotely correct, it's not good.

If you want, I can try to dig that thread up and send you a link.

I'd appreciate the link.

Also yeah, this new heinous stuff aside, imagine trying to do your job around that "method actor"-Googling-ass reading-the-Wikipedia-excerpt-that-pops-up-but-not-even-clicking-the-article ass loser.

Nonsense.

Swans fans have always been insufferable.

Has anyone read the book "The Consumer" by M. Gira? I remember lots of bodies and skin and rape. The guy seems really into rape, like a rapethusiast or something. To publish a book on Henry Rollins' 2.13.61 label and make Hank's writing look nuanced and skillful is some kind of achievement.

Yea, I missed the wind chimes.

Is theres some kind of joke with Baby Dee that I'm not getting? This is the second time I've seen them with Swans and I just do not enjoy it.

I actually thought Swans were a little livelier and more melodic last month than on their previous NYC go-'round. The keys are a new wrinkle and the set was overall less meandering than what they were doing on the final leg of the To Be Kind tour. The opening song they're trotting out is unreleased and it's really, really strong. I am way too old to own a Public Castration Is a Good Idea shirt, yet here I am.

Finally sitting down with The Glowing Man. I think this one might be my favorite of the 2010-present stuff.

The first EP and Filth are far-and-away my favorite SWANS material and really all that I can listen to these days.

You can tell that the cult of Gira got a bit out of hand the further along they went. That's great if you're into that..I'm not.

The whole sexual-assault thing made me feel very icky. Not unlike watching "Manhattan" or something. I don't know.

Thor rules, though.
