I've been very impressed with this record's ability to not get heard by people who should hear it. One of my favorite records of all time.

You know, I struggle to find anything that really lights me up these days. I do check out the things people post up, but for the most part I can't muster much more than a grudgingly respectful indifference. I dunno, it's not you, it's me, I suppose.

There's been a few exceptions though and this record was one of them. When they hit, they hit hard. This album is fucking fantastic. I've listened to it a whole lot over the last few months.

I haven't managed to get into Lubbock in the same way but I'll give that one some more time.

Have got a new record coming out on Tuesday, so now is probably not the best time for me to be pushing some else's music (as if anyone listens to me anyway), but this largely acapella group soul 45 culled from a rare acetate is too good not mention:

Reminds me a lot of Milwaukee's famous Esquires. There's a rarer hand stamped version of the reissue available from the Big Crown store.

If anybody in the US hasn’t picked up a copy of the recent Sun Kil Moon repress, don’t bother. The pressing is garbage. Super noisy. Supposedly the UK pressing is the one to get.

I love the sound of rice crispies, except when it's a new record...

You know that "fish scale" will sound fucking awful.

In other news, Brotzmann's "Machine Gun" is getting reissued, so that's sharp!

The first three Wire lp's, and each one comes with a book.

A box of singles, too. I only have the Our Swimmer / Outdoor Miner single, I didn't know they made a ton of singles....

No Trend

You Deserve Your Life - archival LP, similar tracklist to that TeenBeat CD comp and Teen Love 7".

The subscription to get this is like 60 bucks. There’s absolutely no reason they can’t do a really high quality pressing of this for 20-25 bucks without all the extra BS.

I knew this was coming for a while, but LITA have preorders up for Made Available, Repeat/Metal, and a Live 80-81.

I bought this off eBay cos I'm a knob
(people are flipping it and it's going for pretty much what it cost in the first place, if not less...)

The vinyl doesn't look anything like the picture, but it's really pretty and I think it sounds pretty good to my tin ears (VPI HW19jr/rega amp/B&Ws)
It's a really nice package - admittedly very pricey but so's any pressing of Trout Mask at this point.

( I wouldn't be surprised if they release a standard black vinyl re-issue within the year, or whatever exclusivity period Jack White worked out)
You're a shit MD and I want my pizza money back.

Reissue of Normil Hawaiins' More Wealth than Money is pretty great. I never heard of them until recently.
