That's pretty tough. I think I have to go with The Kids in the Hall. I'm going purely on instinct.

A lot of Mr. Show was just dumb comedy, to me. As absurd as KITH could get, they were sharp, and didn't go overboard. They were the best sketch comedy show outside of Monty Python; taking good SNL, and SCTV into consideration.

The episode with Wyckyd Sceptre cinches it for me. Bob and David by a country mile although Jack Black's presence makes this closer than it otherwise would be.

I think a lot of people on this forum are in their 30s or older, so I'd bet the poll will probably go Kids In the Hall's way. I watched both throughout my teens, and I love them both. But Mr. Show's writing, particularly in the last 2 seasons, has just about everything not Monty Python crushed. The best sketches on Kids In the Hall I can watch and think the Mr. Show writing staff was capable of writing something that good. I definitely cannot say the same for the other way around.

Both are not crap, but Kids in the Hall crushes Mr. Show. Plus you get the added benefit of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet at every commercial break.

Seriously, I love Kids in the Hall, but they weren't capable of a sketch this good.

Kids In The Hall were certainly more consistent.

Mr. Show has made me laugh harder than most other things have in my life, though.

Kids in the Hall for the "ironic" sketch, Chicken Lady, Cabbage Head Guy, Roses/Tammy, the Moon soliloquy thing, can't even keep track of all the rest...my guy thinks Mr. Show is the best sketch comedy show EVER. I don't agree with him, despite enjoying the mustardayonnaise thing and taped call-in show (which is indebted to something before it anyway)...

And I say this as a woman who would like very much to bed Bob Odenkirk. He's my most notorious (semi?-)celebrity crush. Srsly guys. Even more than Vincent D'Onofrio. When I confessed as much to my boyfriend he granted me the best wish ever of watching him naked at that awards show on Mr. Show DVD bonus material...the sight of his pasty butt got my heart even more aflutter. Muahaha.

mr. show. no contest. slight waffle for kith's 'shadowy men on a shadowy planet' theme song. nothing that kids in the hall ever came up with could touch the pre-taped call in show.

This was one of the greatest episodes of Mr Show that I can remember, the effortless segues from skit to skit is remarkable.

The Kids were amazing too so I can't really decide.

Indeed, this may very well my version of the "Fugazi vs. Jesus Lizard" thunderdome. I can't vote right now.
