Nicknamed the Dumb Bass because the hollow plywood body, wooden bridge and flatwound strings make for a short decay that sound like “dumb, dumb, dumb” when you play it. Single-coil low-output pickups but a thin, comfortable neck and a ridiculous cubist scroll. Occasionally perfect. See it in action in this charming studio documentary about the band Malojian:
